COVID19 pandemic forces changes to library access
Given the Federal Government’s latest communications regarding the COVID19 pandemic and social distancing guidelines, a number of strategies are being put in place to ensure that the ALC Library can remain open.
As of Wednesday, 25 March access to the library will be by appointment only, with priority given to ALC students and staff. Bookings can be made by contacting library reception on 7120 8270 or by emailing email@example.com.
Appointments will also be limited by the nature of the service requested and in most cases, restricted to visits of no more than half an hour at a time. It is envisaged that face to face interactions will be kept to a minimum, so complex queries, such as reference queries, will need to be communicated via email or telephone.
To further eliminate the risk of contamination, it is highly recommended that library users bring their own laptops with them to work on.
Director of Library Services, Mr Shaun Lancaster said, ‘These measures are being put in place in a bid to restrict the number of people in the library at any one time and thus minimise the risk of inadvertent contamination of the facility, and the risk of infections occurring. This policy must be strictly observed in order to keep this critical service open.
Your patience and understanding during these challenging times, is greatly appreciated.’
