Placements announced and preaching licenses issued

While teaching assignments are generally not known until mid to late December, the last few weeks of Semester 2 at ALC saw graduate pastoral assignments and vicarage placements announced, as well as preaching licenses issued to third year pastoral studies students.

Graduate pastoral assignments
The following assignments were approved by the College of Bishops:

  • David Cherry – Bethlehem congregation, Wagga Wagga NSW
  • Ben Graham –  Lowood Parish, Qld
  • Mitch Kitson – St Martins congregation, Mt Gambier SA

Vicarage placements
Students heading into their final year of pastoral studies will spend from mid-December to the end of Semester 1 completing their supervised practicum placement (vicarage) in their assigned congregation. They are:

  • Joel Grieger – supervised by Rev Tim Ebbs, Glenelg SA
  • Edwin Shoesmith – supervised by Rev Adrian Kitson, Nuriootpa SA
  • Jeremy Smith – supervised by Rev Tim Klein, Warradale SA

License to preach
The following students have now been approved to proclaim the word of God in public worship at the invitation of the pastors and congregations of the LCANZ under the supervision of ALC teaching staff:

  • Jacob Fabich
  • Tom Kitson
  • Samuel Rentsch

Please note that while these students have been approved to lead services and preach, they are not yet licensed to conduct Holy Communion. Invitations to preach may be issued directly to these students or forwarded on to them via the College.
