Specific Ministry Pastors attend campus for training
ALC’s on-campus student community expanded last week with the arrival of 13 participants, keen to make the most of a four-day Specific Ministry Pastor (SMP) training workshop on the Gospel of Mark. Having been restricted last year to participating only via online training sessions with ALC due to COVID-19, the group (unfortunately still minus their New Zealand colleagues) was glad to be able to connect again in person with each other as well as with ALC staff and on-campus students.
In addition to delving deeply into the scriptures, the cohort greatly appreciated the collegial aspect of the training. Having travelled from far and wide across Australia to attend, it was a great opportunity to share their personal experiences of serving in their diverse ministry situations which included ministry to Chinese, Aboriginal and deaf communities.
Prior to their departure, participants conveyed their sincere thanks to ALC staff involved in the provision of training, saying they felt encouraged to return home and continue their service.
