ALC attends LCA women's ministry gathering

The LCANZ appointed Advocacy for Women in Pastoral Ministry (AWPM) team hosted a gathering at Luther Heights Youth Camp, Sunshine Coast Qld, from 2-4 September. This gathering brought together women who are already ordained, currently accepted into a General Ministry or Specific Ministry program or discerning pastoral ministry. ALC’s Director of Applied Learning, Emma Graetz, has been a part of the AWPM team since its formation in 2025. As part of the planning for this event, the team saw value in having ALC attend to support its current students and to provide information to those interested in future study. 

At the event, ALC shared its latest enrolment numbers and highlighted its ongoing support for women entering pastoral ministry during a panel discussion with LCANZ Bishop Paul Smith. Of the twenty-two women who attended the gathering, eight are currently studying with ALC.

Emma commented that, ‘It was an honour to be invited into this space and spend time with those who are considering pastoral ministry, listening to their stories and providing information to help with their discernment process.'
