Vale Friedemann Hebart
The ALC community mourns the passing of former lecturer, Rev Dr Friedemann Hebart, who died on 23 March in Germany aged 86 years of age.
Friedemann, who succeeded his father as lecturer in Systematic Theology at Luther Seminary, served at “the Sem” from 1980-1985 before taking up duties as a parish pastor in Germany. He later joined the faculty of the Lutheran tertiary College of Church Music in Bayreuth where he taught Liturgy, Worship and Dogmatics for many years.
Friedemann was a respected theologian, a passionate academic, a talented musician and an acclaimed writer who was known for his work on Lutheran confessional documents, theology, and translation.
We give thanks to God through Jesus Christ, for our brother Friedemann and extend our deepest sympathy to his family.
