Vacancy: Chair of Systematic Theology

Australian Lutheran College (ALC) is the tertiary theological provider for the Lutheran Church of Australia and New Zealand (LCANZ) and a member college of the University of Divinity.

ALC is seeking a Systematic Theologian with a proven record of quality teaching and research who can provide leadership in the discipline of Lutheran Systematic Theology.

This full-time position will facilitate quality teaching and research within the field of systematic theology. While the primary responsibilities are teaching, research, supervision and discipline leadership for academic outcomes, ALC faculty also engage in the formation of candidates for ministry in the LCANZ, participate in ministry of Word and Sacrament (if ordained), and provide scholarly insight and theological advice to the church.

The successful candidate will work with other faculty to continue to develop ALC’s flipped classroom, distributed learning approach. They will be research-active and able to supervise at doctoral level.

The initial appointment is for a 3 year period and is based in Adelaide. Commencement date is negotiable.
