Training opportunity: Christian Liturgy and Church Rites
This unit of study commences on 6 October and includes a two day online intensive which will run from 9.00am-4.00pm (SA time) on Monday, 20 October and Saturday, 25 October. Please note that there will be work that needs to be completed prior to attending the intensive.
Well suited to Specific Ministry Pastors/SMP candidates and those undertaking a variety of ministry roles, this training enables participants to develop a critical awareness of the nature of Lutheran worship: its scriptural foundations, historical origins, ritual order, theological function, practices and emerging trends. Participants will also research the practical and creative skills needed for preparing and coordinating public worship, leading orders of worship in the context of congregational life in a local church, and the contextual issues involved in the enactment of church rites in a ministry context.
This unit is underpinned by teaching practices and learning strategies which encourage student engagement and participation in a variety of learning tasks and opportunities which foster deep learning through local application and mentoring.
The training can be undertaken for credit as part of a degree or for audit (auditing a unit within ALC’s higher education programs enables you to participate in the class but you don't complete assignments, and you won't receive any credit towards a qualification).
Enrolments for this unit close mid-September. To find out more email enquiries@alc.edu.au.
