To help people decide if Discover is for them, we have a Frequently Asked Questions document that responds to many questions that we have been asked over the last few years.

Some of our top questions are answered below

Q: Do I need to move to Adelaide to do Discover?

A:
No – Discover is completed off-campus, wherever you live. All subjects within qualifications are offered through a distributed learning model.
Q: How much does Discover cost?

A:
The formal qualification undertaken will incur a per subject cost. To be included in the Discover program, there is no cost to the participant.
Q: Do I need to arrange my own ministry placements?

A:
The ALC Discover Coordinator will assist individuals to determine the best ministry placement. Most times, a ministry placement is conducted within a participant’s existing worshipping community.
Q: Is Discover only for those wanting to be an LCANZ pastor?

A:
No – Discover is for anyone who is looking to explore their calling. Discover can start a participant on a pathway to pastoral ministry, or ministry opportunities within a Christian Ministry organisation (e.g. aged care, school, community services) or as a lay worker within a congregation or parish (e.g. youth worker, ministry support worker, administration).
